NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- New York police and the Federal Aviation Administration said they received numerous reports about strange flying dots in the sky above the city.
The authorities said they began receiving calls at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday about the dozen silver objects high in the sky. FAA spokesman Jim Peters said some witnesses "saw something described as yellow with blue lights surrounding it," the New York Post reported Thursday.
Peters said the agency had no prior notification of any weather balloons being launched in the area.
"I saw five or six lights shining in the sky. There was no way that thing was a balloon," witness Pete Bryant, 32, said.
"There was something weird about it. Light just doesn't reflect off balloons like that. "If Martians were to land anywhere, New York is a much better location than some backwoods town in the Midwest." video--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv9fr_Ades0
